What Do I Do

Breaking News

I have been at the forefront of Reuters' breaking news coverage on some of the biggest corporate stories over the past two years. Over this period, I have consistently delivered news to clients with speed and accuracy, under high pressure scenarios.

Reporting

With a nose for the news and a drive for on-ground reporting over the past few years, I have reported stories across unfolding general and financial news events. My file has ranged from covering labour unrest in the textile industry of Bangladesh to regulatory actions at the height of the global banking crisis in 2023. I have also worked with ease on stories revolving around issues of social stigma like sexual health.

Rewriting and Editing

With an experience at working for a breaking news hub in Reuters which handles writing rolling updates on big breaking news events, I can also read through stories with a clinical eye, make changes to smoothe flow and build a narrative through the course of the piece while correcting grammatical errors and simplifying sentence structure.

Data Reporting and RTI

I hold knowledge of various data analytical tools and have been exposed to data visualisation through R programming language, PowerBI and Excel. I can also ably analyse google trends and file Right to Information requests with various public bodies for access to information that could be used in stories.

Sourcing and Unearthing information

As a part of a breaking news team, I have skilfully over the last two years figured out various public sources of information that can otherwise go below the radar. I can also take a bird’s eye view on a story and chart out the various sources from top to the bottom of the pyramid, be it top executives or lower rung employees to have all angles and threads of a story tied and covered.

Multimedia

I hold working knowledge of various audio, visual and editing softwares. This helps me in being well versed across various storytelling formats. My years of work has thus helped me garner knowledge to hone storytelling across platforms and formats ranging from audio-visual to breaking news stories and long-form features.
